The St. Louis Area Foodbank feeds hungry people by distributing food throughout the bi-state region (our service territory covers 14 Missouri and 12 Illinois counties) and engages the community in the fight against hunger. To accomplish our mission, we partner with over 500 local hunger relief agencies (food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters and senior citizen centers). Each month, we receive between 2 and 3 million pounds of donated product, which we inspect, inventory and make available to partner agencies through our online ordering system.
In Fiscal Year 2017 (10/01/16 - 09/30/17), we distributed 44,629,748 pounds of product which equates to approximately 35,384,001 meals.
According to the 2014 Feeding America Hunger Study, St. Louis Area Foodbank programs benefit 392,700 (unduplicated) individuals annually - 31.4% of which are under age 18.

Mobile Markets is a program that quickly gets donated perishable products such as fruits, vegetables, dairy products and baked goods into the hands of our clients. In FY 2016 (10/01/2015 - 09/30/16), 839 mobile markets in 24 Missouri and Illinois counties delivered nearly 5 million pounds of critical nutrition to the families we serve.
Mobile Market deliveries are done on a scheduled basis which allows the hosting pantry the opportunity to alert their clients of the anticipated delivery and facilitates a quick and efficient delivery to those who need it.
Since each delivery feeds a minimum of 100 families, we can project that at least 83,900 families benefitted from Mobile Market deliveries last year.

Each year over 15,000 individuals volunteer to repackage donated product or assemble senior citizen's boxes.
Each volunteer commits to a 3 hour shift in the Repackaging Center. We could not accomplish our mission without their help.

Approximately 60% of our operating budget comes from fundraising. Each year, thousands of individuals, business, corporations, organizations, schools and foundations donate to support our hunger relief mission.
97% of every dollar directly supports our programs. Audited financials reveal that we can acquire and distribute 4 meals with each donated dollar.
